![]() I'm unsure about how comfortable I'd be with a vertical mouse in comparison, just because I've been so used with my hand turned downward for a mouse for so long. I guess I should try adding angle and slowly acclimate myself. I bought the MX Plus that came with the gray wedge, but admittedly I didn't want a big difference compared to the Trackman, so I just use the wedge and keep the mouse itself at 0 (is that 30 degrees total? Not sure). It presents a good reason to get acquainted with vertical mice. I also have been using thumbballs for about 2 decades with the Trackman and M570, and I didn't think they'd contribute to hand/wrist/arm issues in comparison to other mice. Oh gosh, I'm sorry about your experience, and thank you for sharing. Wish this was out now so I could try it instead of the MX vertical mouse. Probably won't get to the 60° of the Pro Fit Ergo, but 45 would be a good start. I'm planning on giving my hand a break to see if the tenosynovitis resolves itself with some rest, but when I move back to the MX Ergo, I'm going to try increasing the tilt past 30° with a custom wood cradle/wedge. ![]() The Pro Fit Ergo seems to be a best combination of a vertical mouse and thumb-based trackball. It's only been one day, but I'm not in love with the Deft Pro (even ignoring the "stiction", it's just okay), and I don't see myself caring for a mouse, vertical or otherwise. I started using the Elecom Deft Pro today and work ordered an MX vertical mouse for me, to arrive next week. Or maybe it's just an RSI from a particularly busy month (after all, I've been using a thumb-based trackball almost exclusively for more than 2 decades and this is the first time I've had trouble). The reason for my story is to say that I'm afraid it's specifically the thumb-ball situation that's been causing the pain. The pain/ache came back within a day of the surgery and, given the location, makes me think it's de Quervain's and not CTS (haven't taken this up with my ortho, yet). Electromyography testing verified CTS, and I've had surgery in one hand/elbow so far (resulting in the elimination of the tingling/sleep symptoms). This was after having traditional carpal and cubital tunnel symptoms for almost two years. That is until a couple of months ago when I started feeling pain that fits the description of de Quervain's tenosynovitis. Got the MX Ergo Plus (the Best Buy exclusive model with the additional wedge for 30° tilt) about 10 months ago. The battery indicator light eliminates surprises.I started using the Logitech Trackman in 1999, then moved to the M570 around 2012 or so. Works for up to 18 months on two AA batteries (included).
